Claire's Poetry Continues...

My Garden

As I sit and watch my garden grow
I feel a breeze so softly blow.

The summer sun, the bright blue sky
I breathe in deeply and I sigh.

There's a drop, the rain is here
I feel a shake, the thunder is near.

A lightening bolt strikes far away
I shudder a little, yet I stay.

I stand my ground, for this I know,
The
son again will surely show.

I have faith, that's all I need.
For in my garden,
God planted a seed.

A Poem for Pody

Ja! Voll! My Friends

If Pody were here I know what he would say.
"Ja! Voll! My friends, are you here to stay?"
"Let me fry you some fish or bake you a cake."
Or maybe it would be perch cocktail he'd make.
Whatever the reason, this was Dad's way
of giving his love without having to say.
This man had a heart bigger than life.
If you don't believe me, just ask his wife.
She lived with the squirrels, the crow ate her bread.
Everyone knows how much he loved Fred.
He adored his children, they were the apples of his eye.
Asked if he loved Adrienne, he would just smile and sigh.
I know some of you are sad, but there is no need to be.

For Pody and Fred are fishing with God eternally.
