Paper Wings

dreamcat[1].gif (6606 bytes)

Words...

like paper wings,

float softly down

to rest, unheard

upon a paper heart.

Tears...

like blue crystal,

gently they descend

to rest, unseen

upon a paper soul.

Dreams...

tattered and torn,

fly away quietly

to rest, unknown

upon a distant shore.

Carousel

Set adrift on memory's kiss
Laughing like the wind
Saddle up your wishes now
And we let this journey begin

Stallions hurdle thunder
Eternal, throughout time
Vaulting from their platform
Forever intertwined

Music plays, the equines lift
And somehow begin to dance
Matching time with children's laughter
The steeds proceed to prance

And magically, our sorrow's lifted
Cares begin to fade
"High Yo" to mighty Silver
In this place where dreams are made

Tomorrows just a breath away
The past we bid farewell
Parading on the everlasting
We ride the carousel

Just know, it's an angel hug."

Began With A Kiss

Lying awake
In the moonlight so still
I wonder of love
And if I ever will

Feel like the sparrow
On high I will sail
Where love is unbounded
And will always prevail

I would smile like the sunshine
Every day when I rise
To look upon beauty
To drown in love's eyes

And inside of that moment
No time such as this
Knowing the rest of forever
Began with a kiss

Lavish

The first time that I saw you,
My heart began to scream,
My mind began to wander,
Was I walking in a dream?

Then my soul began to take me,
To the pot at rainbows end,
Into a world of ever after,
Where broken hearts they mend.

So if I took you gently,
So sweetly in my arms,
And lavished you with kisses,
And drowned you in my charms,

Would you smile at me so lovely,
And tell me not to stop?
Take me up to Heaven's gate,
And never let me drop?

And if I acted boldly,
Like fools in love they do,
Imagine waves crash all around me,
Dreaming, making love to you.

Would you touch me oh so tender,
And give to me your light?
Would you spend forever holding me,
If I love with all my might?

And if I took this moment,
And sealed it with a kiss,
Would you finally bestow your love upon me?
Would you lavish me like this?

Gone

All is lost between the words.
Everything, yet, explained in words.
Expressions, gone, through phrases.
Making all meaning gone in phrases.
Nothing to find, nothing to hide.
All is hid or gone or left behind.
Wanting it all, we leave it all.
Behind and forgotten is our all.
With or without, it doesn't matter.

"On Your Shore"

Strange how
my heart beats
To find myself upon your shore.
Strange how
I still feel
My loss of comfort gone before.

Cool waves wash over
and drift away with dreams of youth
so time is stolen
I cannot hold you long enough.

As so
this is where I should be now
Days and nights falling by

Days and nights falling by me.
I know
of a dream I should be holding
days and nights falling by
Days and nights falling by me.

Soft blue horizons
reach far into my childhood days
as you are rising
to bring me my forgotten ways

Strange how I falter
to find I'm standing in deep water
Strange how
my heart beats
to find I'm standing on your shore.
